Strategic Objectives

(a) Train Clinicians who will be able to provide preventive and rehabilitative services

(b) Facilitate trainee to acquire competence in diagnostic and curative services

(c) Prepare technicians who will carry out administrative services at primary health facility.

(d) Provide a professional career development with the stronger base in clinical medicine.

(e) Create awareness toward profession, legal and socioeconomic influences in the delivery of health care services.

The clinical assistant course is conducted by blending both theory and practical attachments, and it has a total of four semesters.

In the final year, the students are assessed by the Ministry of Health, Community development, Gender, Elderly and Children of which the following activities are to be fulfilled for the student to be certified to practice as a clinical assistant:

  • Fulfill all the requirement of the curriculum for the NTA 4 and 5.
  • Pass the end of semester examination conducted by the MoHCDGEC.
  • Clinical Assistants are prepared to bridge the gap of doctors at the primary health facilities. Their main duties include:

  • Providing preventive and rehabilitation services
  • Providing diagnostic and curative services
  • To carry out administrative services at primary health facility
